Body Aware Grieving is a system of self-care designed by fitness trainer Margo Rose to help you feel and function better even during times of stress, loss or grief.
- Do you get overwhelmed sometimes when facing romantic, financial or health challenges? Is it hard right now to handle the loss of a person, pet or life goal that is important to you? Are you a busy caregiver wondering how to handle your responsibilities while still caring for your own needs?
Strong emotions including sadness, anger, fear or worry often make it harder to think clearly, stay healthy and take good care of ourselves and the people we care about!
The goal of Body Aware Grieving is to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and stress-related setbacks during challenging experiences.
We may not always be able to stop upsetting events from happening, but we can learn to become calmer, wiser, more prepared and less scared!
Most of all, we need to be patient and kind to ourselves, and the people around us, as we make our way through troubled times and into more joyful ones.
How does Body Aware Grieving work?
A high priority when going through any type of stressful experience is to care well for our physical health. In order to have the time, energy and skill needed to improve current problems it is important to avoid creating new ones!
When people are upset, distracted or overwhelmed it often becomes harder function well physically and/or emotionally.
Headaches, muscle pain, insomnia, lack of energy, moodiness, confusion, problems with alcohol, drug or food choices may be signs that we need to take better care of ourselves!” – Margo Rose
Another step towards feeling better is to become more skillful at grieving losses and disappointments.
This is a very personal exploration since what we each find comforting and uplifting may vary.
