It is so strange to get used to living without a pet when they pass away.  Caring for a pet can become a huge part of one’s daily rituals, especially if the animal was experiencing declining health. Recently a woman who is one of my clients for personal fitness training, needed to put her elderly and sick cat “to sleep.” The cat’s painful symptoms had reduced its quality of life to the point where my client and her vet decided to end the cat’s life as gently as possible. When I arrived for our session, her house seemed a little empty, especially the space where the cat had been resting just a few days before.
